How a flood claims team replaced manual field reports with a mobile adjuster app built for FEMA documentation
Flood claims · Internal adjuster team · United States · manages flood damage inspections, claim documentation, and reporting

01
The problem
“Every inspection meant collecting photos, filling out details manually, organizing the information later, and making sure the FEMA-style report was complete before it could be submitted.”
Epic Claims needed a better way for adjusters to capture inspection details in the field and turn them into standardized reports. The existing process relied on manual data entry, scattered photos, repeated checks, and back-and-forth review before a final claim report could be submitted.
That created extra admin work and made consistency difficult across different adjusters and claims.
02
What it was costing
Each claim required manual organization of photos, field notes, required details, and report formatting. Even small missing fields or incorrect entries could delay the report, require reviewer edits, or create follow-up work after the adjuster had already left the property.
03
What we built
An internal, mobile-friendly adjuster app that captures claim details, photos, required fields, and inspection notes directly from the field, with login, drafts, autosave, reviewer edits, standardized dropdowns, email submission, and automatic FEMA Preliminary Report PDF generation.
A Yembo integration over an external API: claim and adjuster details flow from Epic Claims into Yembo, which returns a magic link field technicians use to continue the inspection. We liaised directly with Yembo's team to coordinate the handoff.
Delivered in two fixed-scope phases over roughly 60 days, working directly with our founders. Phase 1 focused on the core adjuster workflow; Phase 2 on refinements, review flows, and standardized report output.
04
The result
Claim reporting
Manual notes + formatting
Guided digital workflow
Photo handling
Scattered uploads
Claim-linked capture
Report consistency
Reviewer-dependent checks
Required fields + standardized PDF
Field progress
Risk of losing work
Autosave and drafts
They understood the workflow, built around how our adjusters actually work in the field, and kept the process clear throughout the project.
05
What happened next
After the MVP, the partnership continued into a deeper Yembo integration: sending claim and adjuster data through the API, generating magic links for field technicians, and connecting the external inspection workflow back into the Epic Claims platform.
